In this week's property tips, we touch on lesser known tips to buying your first landed property. Landed properties are generally much tougher to select as they not just command a higher price, but often involve a longer staying timeline as well. Some lesser discussed factors are -
1) Having a regular land plot with no wasted space such as long driveways 2) Preparing for maintenance fees and hidden costs
3) Do you need a lift? Is there space provision if you intend to build one next time?
4) Beware of undeclared unauthorised structures - arm yourself with the floor plan
5) Parking is always important but often overlooked - how do the roads outside look?
6) Land titles - does the house you're buying come with 2 land titles?
There are of course more factors to look out for when it comes to purchasing a landed home. Having sold and bought multiple landed homes for my clients, I can also assist you in looking out for these blind spots.
